Page review – page title

Page titles are

  • The first information said by screen readers when opening a page. 
  • shown in search engine results and browser tabs
  • used for browser bookmarks/favorites

What to look for

  • Check that there is a title that adequately and briefly describes the content of the page
  • Check that the title on the page you are checking is different from other pages on the website
    • For example, a page that lists the staff members within Public Works isn’t titled “Staff” it’s Public Works staff.
  • Permalinks should match changed page titles
